Age & Pregnancy

Sensitive Teeth & Allergies
Talk to our dentist before whitening your teeth if you have sensitive teeth and gums. Receding gums and defective dental restorations can also be an issue. If you are allergic to peroxide, which is a whitening agent, do not use a whitening product.

Gum Disease, Cavities, & Other Dental Issues
If you have gum disease or if your teeth have worn enamel, our dentist may discourage you from whitening your teeth. Before you bleach your teeth, any cavities need to be treated to avoid sensitivity. If you have exposed tooth roots, they will not become brighter, as they do not have an enamel layer.
